Automating the user journey based on your subscription billing data is a vital part of running a successful SaaS company. Today, we’re excited to share the next step in the evolution of Encharge by becoming the first marketing automation platform that integrates natively with Chargebee, Chargify, Recurly, and Paddle.
That’s right, not one but 4 first-class, one-click integrations with the leading payment providers for SaaS companies.
For the past 2 years, our goal has been to build the best marketing automation platform for SaaS products.
In that time, we’ve learned just how difficult is to automate basic things like sending a trial expiration email or bringing in payment data into your customer messaging platform.
For instance, until today, in order to send a trial expiration email, you had to do one of these things:
A) Send an email
X days after a user signs up. This works fine if the trial-end date never changes, but that’s rarely the case.
With that method, when you extend someone’s trial period, they would receive the trial expiration email at the wrong time. That’s because the automation doesn’t take into consideration the dynamic change of the trial-end date.
B) Alternatively, you could turn to hacky workarounds like
Send email -7 days after a trial end date.
Not only that but bringing in subscription data in your marketing automation tool is a pain, that usually involves paying for additional connectors like Zapier.
Not any more! Thanks to our native integrations with Chargebee, Chargify, Recurly, and Paddle now you can:
- Automatically sync billing data from your payment provider to Encharge.
- Trigger a flow when a trial starts in your payment provider.
- Trigger a flow when, before, or after a trial ends in your payment provider.
- Trigger a flow when a subscription is activated.
- Trigger a flow when a subscription is canceled.
Trail Ends native shape
We also have built a native “Trial Ends” step in Encharge that works with trial data directly from your product — in case you don’t use your payment provider for trials.
To take advantage of the new integrations you simply have to connect your payment provider from your Apps panel.
Here are some of the major benefits of using Encharge with Chargebee, Recurly, Chargify, or Paddle.
Sync data from your payment provider to Encharge
With your payment provider connected to Encharge all of your subscription data like Trial start and end dates, plan ID, MRR, and cancellation reason will automatically sync to Encharge user profiles. You don’t have to do anything extra to activate this feature apart from mapping the payment provider fields to Encharge fields:
Send dynamic trial expiration emails
Now sending a trial expiration email is as easy as 1, 2, 3. With the “Trial Ends” trigger step you can send an email to your trial users When / Before or After their trial ends. The best part is that the step uses relative dates that change dynamically. This means that your trial expiration emails will always be sent at the right time — even when the user’s trial-end date changes.
Welcome new users when they start a trial
The first few days of your trial period are critical. That’s why we Enable you to automatically trigger a flow when a user starts a trial.
Win back lost customers
With the “Subscription Canceled” trigger you can identify and automatically re-engage churned customers at the right time. You can also use the cancelation reason they gave to provide a more enticing win-back offer.
Engage new customers
With the “Activated Subscription” step you can celebrate the upgrade with them and share your best tips on how to take advantage of your premium features.
Of course, all of these flow steps work seamlessly with the rest of our marketing automation suite. The possibilities for automation are endless:
- Add new trial users to a Facebook audience.
- Assign CRM tasks for your sales reps to follow-up with churned customers.
- Notify your team about newly made upgrades.
What are you going to automate?
